TED NEELEY (Jesus of Nazareth) starred in the title role in Norman Jewison’s motion picture Jesus Christ Superstar, for which he received Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actor and Best Newcomer.
A singer, actor, and composer, Neeley appeared in both the Broadway and Los Angeles companies of Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair as well as the stage productions of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in New York and Tommy in Los Angeles. He composed music for and appeared in Robert Altman’s film A Perfect Couple, and was also seen in A Touch of Gold with Ray Charles, and the NBC movies Of Mice and Men and McClaren’s Riders.
Neeley composed and performed the music for the Tri-Star feature film Blame It on the Night, NBC’s Highway to Heaven and The Big Blue Marble for the Children’s Television Network. He also wrote the music for and starred in Cowboy Jack Street at the Mark Taper Forum Lab in Los Angeles.
Currently focusing on writing and producing, Neeley is working in collaborating with his long-time friend and music partner Pepper Martin, writing and recording songs for their new country music album. In addition, Neeley has written and is now developing his new musical work Pandemonium for the Broadway stage.
JOHN TWIFORD (Judas) studied in the Vocal Performance program at the University of Maryland’s School of Music where he was a Tenor in the school’s most select choral ensemble, the UM Chamber Singers. John also made a run in season 8 of American Idol reaching the top 52. John has been
playing music with rock band The B.O.L.T. playing major venues in the greater L.A. area for the past 3 years. Their music is playable in the newest version of the hit video game, Rock Band.
SARAH HANLON (Mary Magdalene) is excited to join the JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR family. This is her tour
debut and she’s having so much fun. She would like to thank her family and friends for all their support!
JOSEPH ALMOHAYA (Priest) received his MFA in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University. He is overjoyed to be returning for another year with JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR! This performance is for Mom, Dee Dee and Gramp.
